About 40 Days of Purpose
The most basic question everyone faces in life is Why am I here? What is my purpose?
We sometimes think self-help books or looking within will bring us answers to all of our problems. We make things more difficult than they have to be sometimes because we try to handle everything on our own. Even a simple question like "what is my purpose" can leave us stumped!!
Things lighten up when we accept the meaning and significance of our purpose as God intended. We gain understanding as we learn ways of fulfilling God’s purpose for putting us on earth.
The Purpose Driven Life, written by Rick Warren, is the best selling non-fiction hardcover in
history so far and stores are selling out each month. Using this book as a tool, the
40 Days of Purpose Campaign will help us to understand the remarkable plan God has
for our lives. Come and discover your purpose!
As a member of the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign you'll discover:
We were planned for God’s pleasure,
so your first purpose is to offer real worship.
We were formed for God’s family,
so your second purpose is to enjoy real fellowship.
We were created to become like Christ,
so your third purpose is to learn real discipleship.
We were shaped for serving God,
so your fourth purpose is to practice real ministry.
We were made for a mission,
so your fifth purpose is to live out real evangelism.
The 40 Days of Purpose campaign gives you all of the tools and resources you need to better understand God's plan for you. We do this in five ways:
~ Daily reading of one chapter a day from the Purpose Driven Life book (2-3 pages)
~ Connect weekly with your Small Group or Sunday School Class to discuss what you've
learned, ask questions, exchange thoughts, and remain encouraged
~ Stay focused with Sunday Service which will elaborate on the readings and offer clarity
~ Review and complete exercises and questions using your personal workbook
~ Weekly messages, bulletins, personal reminders, and emails
The 40 Days of Purpose campaign is nationwide with over 4,500 Church participants and in excess of 85,000 individual participants - and we invite you to join us and be a part of this learning program.
The average person has 20,600 days in life, 35,000 for some. Is putting aside 40 days to gain understanding of your purpose really asking too much?
